Red Beans and Rice

Today a sister in our hall was making and selling lunches- potato salad, plantains, some chicken that smells amazing and true island red beans and rice. Delicious! Of course we had to buy some.

Sitting in our little room, eating out of Styrofoam containers- this reminds us of New Orleans. Good old times. I loved sitting around in that little FEMA trailer with dad and Zach every night eating dinner.

Feels so long ago. So grateful we got that experience. I think it really helped us prepare for being down here.

Yay yummy food and good memories!

  1. Hi Zach and Robynn: Just read through your entire blog! Very interesting. We know the Campbell family very well as well as Jason Elliott and his wife. So nice to see the pictures. You will never regret your decision to serve there.

My husband and I were in Granada, Nicaragua serving for 2 months in 2011 and are returning to Leon, Nicaragua this November for 5 months. I will miss my grandchildren and children but they all are in the truth so understand our desire to serve were the need is greater.

Enjoy pioneer school, it is a boost like no other. Look forward to your new entries!

    1. Hi Anne,

It's such a small world isn't it? We miss the Campbells and Elliotts, but we will be gone before they come back. :(

We have heard a lot of good experiences about Nicaragua, we would love to visit there sometime. I'm sure you will have a blast.

      Thanks for reading!

  2. Hello Zach & Robyn

Love your blog. My family and I visited Nica in December 2011. We promptly came home and sold our house, cars and just about everything else. We are now saving up to move, but will be going back for another visit in a couple weeks.

I would love to chat with you about what you've learned that could help us prepare. Especially regarding cost of living and such. Please email me if you have time. dustinkittel@hotmail.com
